Meet the
Therapist
Emily Underwood, LPC
Hello. I’m so glad you’re here.
Seeking support is incredibly courageous. I admire that you're embarking on a therapeutic journey for yourself, and I would be honored to join you.
Here is a little bit about me - I am a Licensed Professional Counselor in the state of Ohio. I earned a Master of Arts in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from The Chicago School of Professional Psychology. I have experience in community mental health and private practice. While I originally started my career path out as a pharmacist, I ultimately decided to pursue the field of counseling due to my passion for mental health. Therapy is incredibly fulfilling work, and I feel privileged to share a space with clients who entrust me with their vulnerabilities. I find the most joy working with individuals who are experiencing anxiety, depression, a history of childhood trauma, relational trauma, relationship issues, and/or identity concerns.
My style is a mix of compassionate support and insightful exploration, rooted in empathy and genuine connection. I believe that self-discovery and self-exploration can be transformative, and I tend to work best with curious individuals who seek a deeper understanding of themselves and their experiences. Therapy is a collaborative effort from both the client and the therapist. Talking through difficult experiences in a place of emotional safety can be healing - and through healing we can grow. I look forward to hearing your story, and I hope to be a part of your healing and growth.
